The CEOP Command’s Thinkuknow programme provides resources, training and support for professionals who work directly with children and young people. Split into clear age ranges. Our films, learning activities and other resources are developed in response to intelligence from child protection experts within the CEOP Command. They are designed to help children and young people keep themselves safe from sexual abuse and exploitation by developing skills in identifying and avoiding risk, learning how best to protect themselves and their friends, and knowing how to get support and report abuse if they do encounter difficulties.

‘Sexting’ in schools: advice and support around self-generated images. What to do and how to handle it, a national guide from CEOP.
A guide that is split into 2 parts:
Part 1 – offers practical advice about what to do if sexting happens in your school, highlights the steps that you need to take and offers examples of best practice through case studies.
Part 2 – gives an overview of the problem and offers an insight into the research and categorisation of sexting incidents. It highlights some activities that schools can do to highlight the issues and develop a ‘whole school’ approach.
Primary age resources
This is a 90min lesson with interactive Videos, workbook and professionals guide. This is available with signing and subtitles.
This resource is designed for use with children aged 9-11 in primary schools and aims to highlight the warning signs of grooming in an age appropriate way. The film is seen through the eyes if Charlie who is groomed by Danny. The resource was designed in consultation with CSE professionals, primary schools teachers and children in years 5 and 6 in primary schools. The resource is accessible to girls AND boys with the viewer never discovering Charlie’s gender.
The 8 minute animation introduces Lee & Kim, a brother and sister navigating the online world with the help of their trusted superhero friend SID! This cartoon is produced by the Child Exploitation Online Protection Centre (CEOP) as part of their ThinkuKnow Programme, which is being rolled out throughout Primary Schools in the UK. This is aimed at 5-7year olds and a full teaching pack is available from the CEOP website. Available in different languages via YouTube.
Jigsaw, video for assembly for 8-10 year olds
This is an assembly from CEOPs Thinkuknow education programme that helps children to understand what constitutes personal information. The assembly enables children to understand that they need to be just as protective of their personal information online, as they are in the real world. It also directs where to go and what to do if children are worried about any of the issues covered.
Secondary age resources
Consequences – video for assembly for 11-16 year olds
This is an assembly from CEOPs Thinkuknow education programme that enables young people to recognise what constitutes personal information. The assembly facilitates young people’s understanding that they need to be just as protective of their personal information online, as they are in the real world. It also directs where to go and what to do if young people are worried about any of the issues covered. 9 mins long.
Exploited, full resource pack that can be used as part of PSHE sessions or tutor time
Exploited is an 18-minute film which helps young people learn to stay safe from sexual exploitation.
It educates young people to identify features of an exploitative friendship or relationship in contrast with the development of a healthy relationship, and gives them clear information about how to report abuse and access support. This resource is designed to be delivered through structured sessions delivered by professionals in schools, youth groups and other settings. In schools it should be embedded in a progressive Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) curriculum, as part of Sex and Relationships Education. This Resource Pack provides adaptable session plans, photocopiable resources, essential background information and advice on delivery to help you to use Exploited to get the best outcomes for the young people you work with.
Exposed – video for 14-18 year olds
This 10 minute drama has been designed for 14 to 18 year olds. ‘Exposed’ deals with the subjects of sexting and cyberbullying, issues that teenagers commonly face. Can be used is assemblies.
Prevention programmes for schools and educational settings
Chelsea’s choice is part of our CSE preventative program that we are rolling out across west Sussex. It is a play about CSE depicting a the real life story of Chelsea and how she became a victim of CSE via the Boyfriend model of grooming. It has 4 actors who play a teacher and 3 students putting on a play about CSE, they switch between these roles and ones in the play. It is a hard hitting play but has been received well across the schools. We ensure, where possible that WSCC support is available in case of any disclosures.
To date we have run 7 weeks’ worth of performances, with 75 showings to 72 schools and establishments. We are running the show again in the upcoming academic year with a smaller roll out focusing on our statutory secondary schools.

An animation video looking at how to protect yourself online. This is aimed at children and young people with mild – moderate special educational needs. A supporting activities and lesson plan is available from the CEOP site.

A video showing a dramatization looking at how to protect yourself online. The actors in this film use British Sign Language and subtitles are also included. A supporting activities and lesson plan is available from the CEOP site.
